The Calculation

1

Score Each Metric

Each health metric is scored 0-100 based on how close it is to the optimal range. For example, 7-9 hours of sleep scores 100, while less or more reduces your score.

2

Weight by Importance

Not all metrics are equal. HRV and VO2 Max carry more weight than step count because they're stronger predictors of longevity.

3

Calculate Age Offset

Your overall score determines your age offset. A score of 50 means no offset. Higher scores subtract years (up to -10), lower scores add years (up to +10).

4

Track Your Pace

Gist also calculates your pace of aging—whether you're aging slower than normal, at the normal rate, or accelerating. This helps you see the impact of lifestyle changes over time.

The Formula

Gist Age = Chronological Age + (50 - Score) / 5

Score 70 → 4 years younger • Score 30 → 4 years older
